Thanks to Our Fiscal Sponsor

When we started Wedding and Event Vendor Alliance to create a safe, inclusive, diverse, and welcoming community of vendors, clients and guests., we knew we’d need help because none of us had experience starting a non-profit organization. So we applied for fiscal sponsorship and mentorship with Start Change.

Start Change helps nonprofit organizations grow from “a shoestring budget into sustainable organizations with an engaged Board of Directors, harmonious staff, and plenty of community support.”

Why are we not-for-profit?

We believe that Wedding and Event Vendor Alliance has the potential to do its best work if the intentions of our mission are clear; and we believe that our vendor members and financial supporters will be best served by a Vermont non-profit organization that’s focused on people over profit.

Donations and membership dues are invested back into DEIA educational opportunities, legal and administrative fees, marketing initiatives, and our sponsors at Start Change.

You can make a tax deductible donation here or mail a check payable to: “Start Change” and please make sure to write “WEVA” in the memo.

What we do

We believe that the way forward for the wedding & event industry requires actively moving beyond complacency. Wedding and Event Vendor Alliance provides a path moving forward for industry professionals to hold themselves accountable to creating a more equitable and diverse landscape for live events.

In order to expand diversity in the industry, we help provide resources and opportunities for event professionals to connect and learn better business practices encompassing diversity, equity, inclusivity and accessibility. For example, through targeted marketing initiatives we aim to increase wedding tourism, attract new businesses owners to the area and cultivate residency in Vermont.

Additionally, through safety education and awareness resources, we will continue to help vendors and clients minimize their health risks during live events by providing the latest health data and safety protocols.
